Aleia MacDonald, Wealth Advisor

She loves her community too! She is active in both the Livingston and Washtenaw County communities professionally and philanthropically. Rotary is a big passion of hers and she is a member of the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor and is the Lead Assistant Governor for Rotary’s District 6380. Her passions are primarily geared towards youth and ending hunger. She enjoys volunteering with Reaching Higher, Community Food Banks, and other programs that align with her hope to make a difference in the future leaders of our world!
Her husband and son Makai live in Ann Arbor. They love boating, traveling, golfing, and spending as much time as they can together as a family.
Millie Chu, CEO, Global Entrepreneurship Business Lab
Millie is dedicated to economic inclusion, education, and building infrastructures to strengthen social and economic justice for BIPOC and the underserved around the world.
She founded Global Entrepreneurship Business Lab, a social impact consultancy that transforms communities through inclusive entrepreneurship and workforce empowerment. Millie was featured in Forbes as an immigrant leader who helps and inspires other immigrants to become entrepreneurs.
Additionally, she has been in the U.S News and World Report, MLIVE and dozens of other media outlets on economic justice and equality for women and people of color. She has provided personalized consulting and growth strategies to over 500 organizations, delivered training to several thousand learners, helped launch more than 90 startups, and taught business and entrepreneurship for 10 years at Michigan colleges and universities. She served in Detroit as the VP of a non-profit inclusion organization to support foreign-born founders and high-skilled talent in the advanced technology industry across Asia, Europe, and South America. Globally, she created livelihood programs in the Middle East to benefit refugees, and women owned businesses in emerging economies.
When embracing work-life harmony, you can likely find Millie with her loved ones, in the garden, or pampering fur babies.
Carrie Hensel, Painter & Marketing Consultant
Carrie Hensel is an impressionist landscape painter, marketing consultant, fungi forager (morels are magical!), and co-founder of WXW.
She has worked in the sciences & healthcare, owned a marketing company for 15 years, and consulted across industries with a focus on translating complex information, so it is relatable and readily understandable, both verbally and visually.
During the pandemic, Carrie quickly realized that Netflix shows and Cabernet perhaps weren’t the most gratifying way to spend her free time, so she decided to make a commitment to paint each day for a year and “see what happens.” Since then, collectors across Michigan, the US, and even the UK have purchased her paintings. She is currently represented at three galleries - Somebody's Gallery in Petoskey, MI; J. Petter Galleries in Douglas, MI; and Synchronicity Gallery in Glen Arbor, MI.
Carrie grew up on a small farm in Midland, Michigan, where she roamed the woods, orchards, and fields. She earned a BFA (Painting & Drawing) from the University of Michigan and a BS in Chemistry from Albion College. Her impressionistic landscape paintings are a joyful and vibrant celebration of the interconnectedness of the natural world she’s spent so much of her life observing with loving curiosity and wonder.
Breeda Miller, Author & Speaker
An author, speaker, trainer and playwright, Breeda Miller has used her professional experience serving clients in health care organizations, corporations, academic institutions, and non-profit communities. Apart from her education, Breeda Miller came to her awareness of the value of self-care when she cared for her mother for nearly six years, including hospice care in her home. She is a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy and has a variety of certifications and training programs. A skilled storyteller, her video stories have gone viral and she has appeared on The Moth Story Hour on NPR. Her acclaimed one-woman play, Mrs. Kelly’s Journey Home provides audiences with an entertaining and engaging theatrical experience that lifts hearts and provides memorable lessons.
